Well that was rather unpleasant

I just had to add multilingual support to a website I’m setting up. It would have been nice to know that from the beginning, not when I’m almost done! To top it off, it’s been awhile since I’ve done anything multilingual, so there was a little bit of hair pulling and some cursing like a sailor going on in the beginning, but things are all sorted out now. Thank you Google for your helping me remember things I forgot I knew.

Anyway, you all don’t care about my battles with the demons of the interwebs, so here’s another little drabble to pass the time before I break out the red pen and jump into a bit of editing on Sins of a Father. You thought I forgot about today’s post didn’t you? C’mon, be honest now. Truthfully, I almost did, but now that I’m approaching the end of the month I’m really making an effort to finish it out with a post every day. I wasn’t sure I could do it, but here we are nearing the end and I’m still going strong. Go me!

Oops, I’m rambling again. Story time:

A touch of this, a dash of that

Gladys pulled the wooden spoon toward her lips. With a soft breath, she cooled the steaming stew. She sipped from the spoon and scratched her chin. “It’s missing something.”

A pinch of salt and a touch of paprika later, she again lifted the spoon to her lips. She shook her head. “Roger, come in here for a second.”

He grumbled through the door, cursing her for bothering him. “What is it?”

“Taste this, please.”

She hoisted the spoon to his lips. He slurped it greedily and swilled it around in his mouth for a moment before swallowing. “Needs more human.”
