I chose this photo because it’s little details like this that catch my eye when I’m out taking photos. Things like this are details most people don’t even notice. They’re treasures hidden in plain sight.

The chain was forgotten, but the burnished engagement ring bound it to its duty just as surely as the day they were wed. Many days have beaten down with glaring sun and biting wind, but the ring holds fast, week after week, year after year. The perfect circle binds the companionship to the earth, that all who link themselves to it may be themselves grounded. Poetic? No, but such truly strong things rarely inspire the muses. Chains do not dance on the winds. Chains bind. Theirs is a work of duty. So be it.

Your way of noticing is a treasure.

Thanks. Appreciate it.

It’s a good thing to have eye for the small details. I’m more of a cityscape/landscape photographer myself and I often don’t see the small things. That’s why I appreciate seeing photos of other photographers that see the things that I don’t always pay attention to.

I do love a good landscape, especially when it isn’t marred by buildings or power lines. There is beauty in both the whole picture and the minor details.

It’s a shame details often get overlooked in favor of the bigger picture. Sometimes it’s nice to slow down and really inspect the world around you.

I tend to focus in on small details also. This is wonderful, Adam… I love the macro detail of something many would walk by.

I’m pretty sure people look at me funny when I take photos, what with the way I lay on the ground and put myself in weird positions to get a photo. Sadly, I haven’t done it much lately. I really need to get out there soon.

I find that my iPhone is both a blessing and a curse, when it comes my photography. Instant, easy gratification, but I don’t take my camera out with me enough. Like you, I’m busy squeezing into spots, turning upside down and sideways… it leads to some of the most interesting photos! 😉
