It was the dog what done the girl in. Yeah, I know I’m covered in her blood, but that’s just because I tried to save her from the flea bag. Is that a crime these days?
I was only there because something didn’t sit right ’bout that mutt, so’s I followed the kid down by the tracks. I was worried ’bout her, ya know? Can you fault me for caring too much?
The dog was following her so’s I followed too. Crazy mutt just up and attacked her out of nowhere. I wasn’t close enough to help the kid.

I just wanted to let you all know, in case you missed the news, I’ve got a new book coming out March 15th. It’s a collection of four short stories, a bit different than my books of 100 word stories. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

Very tragic story. I’m not sure I believe the narrator. Hmm. Nicely done. Congrats on your book!

You’d probably be wise not to believe him, and to keep your distance from him.

Good story, Adam, especially the dialogue. I reblogged this on Musings on Life and Experience. 🙂 — Suzanne

Love the dialect!
I wonder, is this what really happened? It sounds to me like your story could be set in a police interrogation room…

I think you’re right about where it takes place, and I don’t think they believe him either.

Well, my wife up and drank all the wine before I had a chance to stop her, so I can’t provide a half-drunken rant for at least a week (gotta wait ’til some money comes in from my clients before I get to buy more liquor). However, I’m tickled to see you back in the ring, and this was a creepilicious tale if you’ve ever written one. Nice work. Welcome back!
Cheers!

Well what did she go and do a thing like that for? Doesn’t she know I require half-drunken rants yo survive? If you thought this one was creepalicious you should check out the other one I posted last night. Its a bit longer though, but I think it has a higher creep factor.

This guy is so compassionate. He went the extra mile for her. Too he couldn’t have gotten to her sooner. Bad dog, bad!

Yes, and I’ve got some ocean-front property in North Dakota I can sell you.

This voice sounds so real and convincing, Adam. The story is chilling! (I’ll try and forget the girl in the pic is my daughter! :-p ) This is your genre for sure; you’re so good at it!

Thanks, Dawn. That’d be a good thing to forget for this story. I appreciate the kind words.
