As you may know, yesterday was my 30th birthday. I don’t view it as a big deal like some people seem to. To me, it was just another day, only with cake. Who doesn’t love a day with cake?
I don’t feel any older, but I do feel a bit wiser. I know I’ve got a long way to go in the wisdom department, and I also know that age doesn’t necessarily bring wisdom, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling the way I do. I know it’s not the age that brought it, but the experiences along the way. I also know that there are far wiser individuals than me and that’s a piece of knowledge that keeps me humble.
I don’t think it’s necessarily that I am any wiser than I was a few days ago, it’s just that I’ve never looked at myself as wise before. I’ve always been intelligent, but intelligence and wisdom are two very different things. I think that in itself takes a bit of wisdom to see, so I must be making some progress.
I’m not saying I feel like an old man (30 is not old, though I can’t seem to convince my wife of that). I’m just now starting to realize the man I’ve grown into and though I could stand to make a few changes, I’m generally pleased with what I see. I’m finally becoming the man I always hoped I would be, and there’s no shame in that.
Here’s to future growth as an individual and as a member of the human race.

Thirty was a good year for me. I hope it is for you, too. It sounds like you are well on your way. Happy birthday!

I’m sure it will be a good year for me as well. Just have to keep doing what I’m doing and it’ll be great!

maybe even another 30 after that. Who knows, by that time maybe people will be immortal haha

Hey Belated Happy Birthday! 30 is not old!

Thanks! And I know! That’s what I keep saying! We just see things differently I suppose. To me, the only time you’ll ever be old is if you believe you’re old, regardless of the actual number. I don’t see that ever happening for me.

i am chronilogically 61, physically about 70, mentally about 33-35 Love my life and wish the physical ws as young as my mind, I am trying to reverse as much as I can LOL (time machine perchance?)

If I stumble upon a time machine during my time here, I’ll be sure to let you borrow it, though I’m not sure a time machine would be exactly what you’re looking for. What you really need is a fountain of youth.

Thirty, old?! Wait until you pass the big six – oh, you young pup! Then you can howl!

I’m not the one who thinks 30 is old. My wife is. I just think of that Tim McGraw song when I think of being 30. “My next 30 years will be the best years of my life.”
